DermaRESTORE Stretch Mark + Scar Therapy

When I was pregnant with my son, many years ago (he’s a sophomore in high school now, geez!), even though I used cocoa butter, I got a TON of stretchmarks on my stomach. They are still there, my love stripes. Of course, they’re not subtle and I wish they were! Other than cocoa butter and bio oil, I’ve never tried to do anything about them, until I got this product, the Advanced Stretch Mark + Scar Therapy by DermaRESTORE.

Product description via Amazon: “For almost as long as women have been giving birth, women have been looking for a way to prepare and prevent stretch marks. This revolutionary product derma restore offers a guarantee to do just that. Backed by independent clinical and scientific testing, PRI has come up with an easy-to-use cream that has been proven to reduce the appearance of stretch marks on the body by an incredible 100% of the women tested in less than two months.”

It comes in a 4oz plastic bottle with a serum-pump style head.

It comes out in a creamy lotion texture. The one major negative about this product is that I absolutely HATE the smell of it. It’s like chemical sunscreen meets butane, or something off-putting like that, very blech, for lack of better words to describe it. After it absorbs into the skin it fades away, but there is still a light sunscreen-ish after scent.  The ingredient list is waaaaay too long, so I’ll leave it out, but it is available via the Amazon link toward the bottom of this post.

I’ve only been using this product for 2 weeks, but there is a noticeable smoothness to the skin surrounding my scar tissue. Though the scars themselves have only just slightly softened. Below images are of part of my stomach: left = before; right = after. Though the left is slightly closer, you can still see how in the left it’s bumpy and in the right it’s smooth/flatter.

If not for the off-putting scent, I’d 100% recommend this product, even at this preliminary stage.  Will post a review update in about a month and a half (if I can continue to tolerate the smell, ick).
