Face masks have really become one of those staple beauty regimen things for me, they are just something that I have to do and have on a regular basis. To go beyond that, I am an enthusiast for trying new ones whenever and wherever I can. – can you say addicted? Sadly, but not sadly, it’s true. I’m addicted to face masks 😉
This Skin Brightening Rose Mask by InstaNatural has to be in my top favorites, if not my absolute favorite, as far as leaving my skin feeling silky and luxuriously soft. Being that it is a “Rose” mask, it does have a very very strong and pungent rose fragrance, like potpourri or dried roses – reminds me a bit of a tea rose perfume I had several years ago. So if you don’t like florals and specifically don’t like the smell of roses, then I don’t recommend getting this mask – but if it helps, (as I have mentioned time and time again) I’m normally not a fan of heavy fragranced beauty products (especially florals) because I’m prone to migraines and headaches. This did not trigger a headache or migraine for me, which is a major plus; however, that said, I still wouldn’t chance using this if I already had one, just because I know my head.
As I mentioned, this mask left my skin extremely soft, but sigh… with exception to the area between my eyebrows and on the side of my nose – my perpetual most undelightful problematic spots. These areas seemed to just become even flakier after using this mask, but at least I know now to just avoid those areas when using this mask, as it really is quite excellent on all other areas of my face and neck. With it being winter time, using this mask made my face all the more colder, like I was wearing an ice mask – so I recommend using it in a place that is very warm – just stand or sit near your heater or heat vent so you don’t freeze your face off, lol.
Also, it’s very interesting to me that it says that you can leave this on for up to 1-2 hours, most products would irritate the skin after that amount of time. I didn’t test it, just left it on for maybe a half hour (the normal suggested use was 10-15 minutes). Rather than drying to an ashy papery feel, this one dried to a sheen, but it was not sticky.
I got carried away and forgot the basics – the texture is a like a gel, and is a translucent kind of coffee/dark tea color.
