To end my 2015, I had a luxurious Lush bath, using the Phoenix Rising bath bomb – I had to look up my order because the label was messed up and I couldn’t read it. Mine was more pink/magenta with bits of orange and had more dusting of that shimmery gold on top than the one at the product link. It’s possible that they may have changed it since I ordered – I’ve been hording my bathbombs and bars, so it’s been over a year. Since I don’t want them to lose their full-potential, I plan on using them up within the next couple of months or so. Maybe a lush bath a week until they’re all gone? I believe I still have 6 or 7 left.
Here’s the description from Lush: “All the myth and magic of a Phoenix pressed into one bath time experience, which lets you arise at the end feeling refreshed and ready for the next 500 years. One of Lush’s patented double layer bath bombs, your Phoenix will sink to the bottom then rise in triumph, his mythical sparkling purple and green plumage unfurling through your bath water. He’ll release gentle shea butter, cocoa butter and jojoba oil to leave your skin feather soft, and exotic essential oils of fruit and spices, which take your mind on a flight of fancy to distant shores where you are lying on a beach drinking spiced rum”
In reading “purple and green” in the description that makes me believe, even more so now, that they changed it from the time I ordered. Mine only had hints of purple and no green at all.
When dropped in the water it did its fizzy thing. The water began to turn pinkish with bits of orange and then became this rich guava-pink color. The scent was heavy of a sort of feminine floral-ish cinnamon (rather than a hardy spicy cinnamon, if that makes any sense) and cassia – really a great fragrance combination that I’d love to have permeating the air of my bathroom regularly. Unlike what it said though, it floated for the first couple of minutes and then sank, never to return to the surface again – at least not without help.
Afterward, my skin felt silky and had bits of shimmer, especially on my feet! This however did leave some remnants of debris on the bottom of the tub, as well as two pieces of cinnamon bark.
I rank this one up on my favs!
