Birthday & Sephora

Had a good birthday this past Tues. My instructor let me leave a little early, which was great. My husband bought me a larger bag for school and my son gave me a coffee cup that he handmade in art class with a hand carved and painted Minion on it!!! Then later in the evening the fam and I had dinner at Outback Steakhouse. I got my favorite dish from there – the Prime Rib cooked to medium, with a side of mashed potatoes, sauteed mushrooms, and huckleberry iced tea. Also had a birthday coupon for a free dessert and picked out the Down Under Brownie (or something like that). As we were sitting there waiting for the check and the dessert to go, the table next to us started to talk loudly about Star Wars – which is what we were going to go see right after dinner :/ HATE when people spoil things like that! We left the restaurant and hurried over to the theater, since it took forever to get out of the restaurant, but when we got there, it was already sold out for the entire night. We were able to prepay for tickets for the showing on the following day though.

When we went the next day, we decided to go about an hour early — turned out we should have arrived at least 2 hours early. OMGosh… the line literally wrapped around the hallways of the ENTIRE theater complex and this is a big theater! It was so hot in there and so many bodies (that many of which should have taken a bath before going to the theater, just sayin’). Luckily, the IMAX 3D theater room they were showing Star Wars in was pretty big and we still got decent seats. It was a good movie, I like the new lead actress, however, there weren’t any hot guys (none to my liking anyway) in any of the lead male roles – though, I suppose Harrison Ford is still hot in his own way. Anyway, so that was that, and I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, so I will leave it at that!

Most of you probably already know this, but for your birthday Sephora gives you a gift (well you have to order it, but it’s a free gift). I’m just a Beauty Insider, not a VIB, so it may be diff for VIBs. This is what I got this year:

Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien and Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella. Of course, when you’re checking out, that’s not the only thing that ends up in your cart. I added a couple of things.

Got the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder, finally. Also got the Stila stay all day liquid lipstick in Dolce, and the following samples: Nude Brands Detox brightening fizzy powder wash, Guerlain Lingerie de Peau invisible skin-fusion foundation with sunscreen, and Hourglass Immaculate liquid powder foundation mattifying oil-free in Sand.

20151222_191238-120151221_215839I have to say that I really LOVE the Stila stay all day liquid lipsticks. The doefoot is sooooo soft and flexible compared to others, and the formula makes for a smooth glide across the lips.  It isn’t smudge proof and does transfer quite a bit, but a layer of it does still remain on the lips all day long. The Dolce color is beautiful too. I’m wearing it in the pic to the right.

Some swatches of Stila and Nars are below.
