Yes, it is Sunday! Face Mask Day! Woot.
Today, I tried the Lemon D-Toc Peeling Gel by SecretKey from the December 3b box sub (see this post).
Product description: “Say goodbye to those annoying dead skin cells! This peeling gel provides gentle exfoliation by removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. With lemon as a key ingredient, it brightens, detoxifies, and nourishes your skin all in one.”
It’s a thick gel that only very faintly smells like lemons. My face was clean, fresh out of the shower and I applied this onto a dry face. Within seconds it started forming little balls as I was spreading it around my face and I was hella worried! OMG, it was like my face was peeling from a bad sunburn. On the inside I was panicking, on the outside I remained calm… The photos don’t seem as bad, but it was worse than it looks in them.
But, I rode with it and allowed it to dry, then got a cloth and washed it off, half expecting to still look like a peely mess.
Ok, so not so bad.
My skin actually feels freaking amazing! Really smooth and soft like a baby’s butt, I keep touching my cheeks, haha. I think I found my fav (so far) face peeling mask!!!
Then next, I tried the Altcheck MD Dermatologist DePuff Eye Pads that I received in the November Beauty Box Five sub from this post here.
Product description: “Everyday undereye circles: get outta here! Pop these o to soothe puffiness, fine lines, and tired skin in just 30 minutes. Soothing hydrator, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”
I expected them to be wet, but they were dry with a gel adhesive on the back. It was only slightly cooling upon application and because of the adhesive I could feel it “pulling”. I left it on for 30 minutes, as it said.
In peeling it off, that stretched the skin under my eyes – I tried to save my skin from doing that as much as possible, but it was unavoidable. Didn’t notice anything different after application, visually, though I could feel my undereye pulse a little and feel like it was under pressure with slight inflammation on the parts where it was on my nose. :/ It says to do this 2-3 times a week. Umm… no. Thanks, but no thanks.
This one was a thumbs down for me.
