I saw this on ugnesbeauty blog and decided to do it! I love Christmas time! My bff is obsessed with Christmas, she’s the Christmas Queen (L, if you’re reading this, you know you are!… I don’t think she reads my blog though. It’s ok).
1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
Home Alone, Christmas Story, and Christmas movies in general. They need to come out with a Minion Christmas… just sayin’
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Usually, we open one gift on Christmas Eve and leave the rest for Christmas morning. When I was a kid we’d wake up at the butt-crack of dawn and wake our parents up to go open gifts. But with my son, we wake up whenever, I think it’s because we all pretty much know what we’re getting nowadays and it’s not so much as a surprise. There are, occasionally, those instances when we get something unexpected though, which makes it fun.
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
Umm… nothing that I can really think of. I have a negative one though 🙁 Since my birthday falls three days before Christmas, I always end up getting combo gifts and I remember one Christmas, must have been around 8 years old, where I only got ONE gift for both birthday and Christmas from my parents. I was devastated.
4. Favourite festive food?
Hello, I’m a foodie! I love food in general, as long as it’s good! For Christmas dinner we typically do a ham – either honey or brown sugar spiral or brown sugar and pineapple, then mashed potatoes and gravy, and some kind of veg. One Christmas I made a duck. I would love to try Goose on year, but they run around $55+. And of course we have to have some kind of cookie, my favs are those meltaway powdered sugar cookies!
5. Favourite Christmas gift?
IDK. Really. I love it when we are able to go spend it with family rather than just me, the hubs, and the kid — that time with family is a gift. When it’s just the three of us, we open presents, eat, and that pretty much sums it up, but when we’re with other family there’s more to it. I miss that! Plus when I used to live back home in Hawaii, there was always more than one “party” to go to because I have so much family there.
6. Favourite Christmas scent?
Cinnamon, ginger bread. I’m not too big on scents because of my headaches.
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Opening one gift. If we’re visiting my parents we do board games. I wish we carried this tradition in my own household, but my hubs isn’t into board games, sadly 🙁 I may see if my son would still like to do this though. Usually make cookies this day or the day previous.
8. What tops your tree?
A lighted star. It used to be an angel, but she got retired.
9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you
always asked for but never received?
LOL, well I grew up in the 80s/90s, so mine was one of those large beatboxes (portable stereos). I don’t think I got it. I can’t remember if there was anything else that I really wanted that cost and arm and a leg and never got. My son always asks for expensive gifts, the older he gets the more expensive. He pretty much gets all he asks for except for one year he asked for one of those motorized motorcycle things – umm yeah, no not at his age at that time!
10. What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
I’m not going to lie I love getting gifts! (If you don’t, you’re lying! ;)) But the whole festive atmosphere, the lights, the tree, decorating, cooking, eating. The whole bit!
So what about you? Is this your season?
