Two more serum reviews and that should be it for awhile – which will give my face and neck some time to get back to a more consistent routine.
First up… Oz Naturals‘ Vitamin C Facial Serum. If you’re following my blog, you know that I recently did a review on another Vitamin C Serum and it didn’t jive with my skin. I decided to give this one a go, because you never know, it could be the brand issue or it could be a product fluke.
Like the previous serums, in exchange for my honest review, I received this product and the one below complimentary. It was shipped directly from Amazon (Prime), so there was no delay in receiving it and it was packaged well.
From the Amazon description (condensed, you can read the full description via the product link toward the very bottom of this post): “ALLURE MAGAZINE’S Best In Beauty Vitamin C Serum – It’s widely considered to be the most effective organic vitamin c serum available & is proven to dramatically increase the production of collagen and cellular turnover – Resulting in a much smoother texture and even skin tone – We guarantee you’ll notice a much more youthful and radiant glow! […] guaranteed to leave your skin radiant and more youthful looking by neutralizing free radicals & is proven to stimulate collagen & reduce fine lines and wrinkles.”
This also came in an amber bottle with a rubber dropper top. The serum is crystal clear and very much like water in that it is very liquidy. The scent is mildly on the sweetside, I want to say it smells like simple syrup (sugar water) and faintly floral. Though it is very liquidy as I’ve already mentioned and it drips down your hand, once you get it on your face it goes on smoothly and absorbs rather quickly. It’s very refreshing on the face, like an instant brightener, and not irritating at all.
Inside the box with the bottle was this information sheet, which I thought was a nice touch. It talks about how, because of customer feedback, they change their formula. (click pic to enlarge to read)
The list of ingredients is small and there’s only one on there that’s like those hard to pronounce, whatits, which is always a good sign! Here’s what it contains: Vitamin C, Haematococcus Pluvialis (a rich botanical source of Astaxanthin), Botanical Hyaluronic Acid, Witch Hazel, Vitamin E, Rose Hips Extract, Green Tea Extract, and Chamomile. That’s it! Link to where to get it is at the very bottom of this post.
Again, I just recently reviewed another brand’s Hyaluronic Acid Serum. But I will just review this one without comparisons. As mentioned previously, this product was given to me complimentary in exchange for an honest review. It was shipped via Amazon Prime, so quick and easy, no issues.
This bottle didn’t come packaged in a box and is different than other serums in that it comes in a cylinder shaped bottle with a pump instead of a rubber dropper. The top and bottom of the bottle is silver and the base white – very sleek and chic.
From the Amazon description (condensed, you can read the full description via the product link toward the very bottom of this post): “Triple action anti aging anti wrinkle hydrating serum with HA technology known to plump the skin & fill in those fine lines and wrinkles. I’m glad that this came with the pump-style dispenser as the serum is rather thick — it doesn’t run when you pump it out. It’s also light-weight. The scent is fairly strong (I have a sensitive nose and head, you’ll probably read this a lot from me) and smells richly of lavender. If you like lavender, this is great for you! Unfortunately, I worked with lavender buds for a long time during my fiber art days dealing with wool and fiber. You’d think that I’d adapt a tolerance for it, but instead it’s more of a trigger for my headaches. This product’s lavender scent, though strong upon initial pump and application, doesn’t stick around strong enough to cause me distress – thank goodness!
As with many of these serums, it goes on smoothly and absorbs quickly. It does “pull” and tighten the skin a little. I observed no redness or irritation with this product. Link to where to get it is at the very bottom of this post.
