According to Asana: “Skin lightening cream is a blend of gentle, natural ingredients that can reduce hyperpigmentation, spots and uneven skin tone. No harsh chemicals like butylene glycol that have negative effects on skin. Re-ignites radiant skin with a brighter, move even complexion and a naturally supple texture. Brightens-Balances-Nourishes”
This Skin Lightening Anti-Aging Cream wound its way into my mailbox complimentary* thanks to Asana Beauty, in exchange for the following review.
The product packaging is simple, yet elegant with a white jar body, a silver metallic lid, and black and metallic gold writing. It came sealed with a liner within.
The scent of the cream is clean and mild. For the first few times, I thought it smelled a little weird after I put it in my hands and rubbed my hands together before applying it to my face — this may mean that it needs to be stirred before using.
The cream looks and has the texture of loose yogurt (you know, after you have mixed it around a little). One word of caution, because it is on the looser side, take care when you’re holding the jar that you don’t tilt it absently, especially when it’s still moderately full as it will spill over the side — I managed to do this a few times when I wasn’t paying attention.
I used this after I washed my face and applied any toners and/or serums, being sure to concentrate on areas where I had fine lines and/or dryness. The cream is light-weight compared to a lot of other whitening creams I’ve tried before and goes on very smoothly and effortlessly. After it absorbed into my skin, I went back and put a little more over the fine lines and dry areas. It was safe to apply makeup on after absorption.
After application of the cream, I have noticed that my skin gets a little red/flushed, but that fades away within 15-30 minutes. I also noticed, that if I didn’t wear makeup after application, there was a slightly greasy feel to my face.
Luckily, I don’t have too many age spots and wrinkles. I do have the fine lines on my forehead and under my eyes, dark undereye circles, and some dark spots along and on the underside of my jawline, as well as some vertical lines on my neck. There has been minute lightening and brightening to my facial skin, very subtle, and maybe a softening of my fine lines, but nothing substantial – though I’ve only been using this product for a few days now. I think within time there is a possibility that there would be some more visual differences in the texture, luminosity, and elasticity of my skin.
