Wet N Wild Fergie Velvet Matte Lip Colors + Megalast Nail Colors

Wanting to get more of those Rimmel London Show Off Matte Lip Velvets (see this post), since I was already out and about looking for the silicone pot holder from this post, I stopped off at a couple more Walgreens. The two stores I went to only had two each of those Matte Lip Velvets left and all of them were already open, yick. That was a bust, however, I did spot the above Wet N Wild Fergie Velvet Matte Lip Colors (2015 Collection, exclusive to Walgreens) and they were on sale – buy one get one half off, which came out to be around or exactly the same price if averaged as the Rimmel London‘s – (I want to say it was about $3.57 each, which averages to $2.68 each via the BOGO1/2). These come in 9 shades, but since this was a BOGO1/2, I only got 8 of them. From left to right: Nude Muse, Transcendence, Fashion Darling, Timeless Chick, Plumgenue, Pink Candy, Kreamsicle Kitty, The Stand Out. (The 9th shade, that I did not get, was DJ Doll, which I believe was an orangish shade.)

These work by twisting the bottom to move the product up, which is nice as you don’t have to use a sharpener, but one con, depending on how you feel personally about this, is that couple of them broke about an inch or so down the barrel when I was swatching. They’re very creamy, the last two were highly staining though (and seemingly more matte than the others), especially The Stand Out — how fitting — which stayed on my wrist for two days (even after scrubbing). Layering might be the way to go with these.

Again, on the same trip, out and about. Dollar General had these Wet N Wild Megalast Salon Nail Colors (as singles) for $2 each. I decided to go with some neutral shades – Whipped Topping, Sugar Coat, Private Viewing, and Wet Cement (which is more like milk chocolate than cement to me…). They have a wide flat application brush. I’m messy when it comes to applying nail polish, the wider brush doesn’t seem to help me any, more like encourages me to paint outside the lines, lol.

Below are swatched on matboard (white/dark brown), not fully dried though, and probably not the best way to swatch since it seeps into the material, but I just did my nails, lol. In my previous post you can see the color Wet Cement on nails, dried.

2015-11-14 21.25.56And as you can see, there’s more stuff to go through (Birchbox and BB5 for November are supposed to get here sometime next week too)! Not sure if I’ll get to them tomorrow, as I need to study more since I was sick Thurs & Friday and missed school for the 1st time on Thursday (which is also test day) 🙁 Which sadly also means I lost my Perfect Attendance for the quarter, ugh. Being a good student is hard, especially when going back to school after so long. That’s ok though, I still have my other two, more important goals, to hold on to.

Maybe I can go through at least one of them tomorrow though, like my 1st Ipsy bag or the Shop Miss A’s Mystery Bag. We shall see.

Off to visit other blogs, I haven’t had a chance to do that very much. Have a great night all!
